SGraves155Lab X Golden
Just visited my gunsmith and saw that his Golden Retreiver bitch had had a litter of pups by a black lab that had gotten in her pen. Looks like 5 black and 3 yellow.
Anyone have experience with this cross?

375erI have seen labxgolden crossed dogs and would be a nice dog if you don't want a purebred. The coat may or may not be longer like a golden, but if you want a family/hunting dog should be fine. Retrieving drive will be more dependent on the parents and how much you work with that as soon as you can during puppy stage.
I have purebred goldens that I run in field trials/hunt tests and do alot of training. Let me know if I can be of any further help.

wetdog2084My friend has two, they are very good dogs and hunt and retrieve great despite coming from non hunting parents. They look like black goldens.

PeterThis is Bailey:
Bailey is a rescue dog obtained from a shelter. He was advertised as a Lab and the picture posted on the web site looked like a Lab. but when we saw him (drove for 3 hours!) he clearly was not a Lab. We took him anyway! I believe him to be a Lab./ Golden Retriever mix. he is 2 years old and weighs 65 pounds. He has long hair which is silky smooth. He loves the water!
He seems to be a tracker ie. he keeps his nose close to the ground. We have owned 2 yellow labs and a Chessie before.
Hope this helps.
Peter.
