Is the hydraulic die something that end users would buy for case forming or is it used by you to mass-produce .375 HE cases?

Will Bertram make .375 HE cases when you guys run out of 585? Either way, I want in. I can't do it right away, But I want to make a rifle like your Enfield test gun. Would love to see more detail pics. Especially the action.

Ball powder is my last choice for LR loads; it is generally horribly temp sensitive, although I seem to recall Hodgdon marketing one that isn't. What are you using?

I see. I think the 20 mill cannon uses ball powder as well, I assume for the same reason.

IMHO stepping up to big .338s was a real eye opener in terms of wind drift at extended ranges. I can only imagine with this round. What is the BC of the bullet? I would like to run it on JBM Ballistics...

Wow, ran the 285 ELD at 2700 vs your load above. At 1200 yards the wind drift (10 mph) looks like this (in MOA):

.338: 6.7 MOA
.416: 2.3 MOA

That is a laser beam.

Ed, so you are making new cases from the 50 BMG? What is the case head diameter?

They aren't/weren't designed to be carried the field.

It wasn't my intention and don't think he was...I simply asked how much they weigh. Different strokes for different folks. I love shooting LR, but if I can't carry it in the field I have zero interest - doesn't mean others don't, and it doesn't mean the stuff a guy like him does doesn't help a guy like me me down the road, just like the benchrest guys (you know, the guys that shoot guns with zero field applicability) have done a lot for basic accuracy.
