Just got back from my Kodiak Brown Bear Hunt in Kiluda Bay and was successful in harvesting a 9ft 8" boar with a 27 1/16th skull. He was harvested with a .340 Weatherby with .240 grain North Forks loaded by Superior Ammo. He was shot quartering away at 210 yards and dropped like a sack of potatoes. Bullet completely passed through and took the top of his heart and lungs. We were going to glass a hillside and cut a fresh track. 5 miles later and 3 hours passed till I got my shot. I hunted with Alaska Hunting Services. Saw three bears total and the weather was brutal with high winds and 1 1/2 feet of snow. Hide was in prime condition with no rubs and the pads on his feet were still soft so he had just come out of the den. Will send picks if someone can walk me throught the process. I already have them on a disc.

twilli ----- I shoot a .340 Wby and that would have been my pick of bullets also. Congrats on your Bear. I took a 91/2 ft. Bear near Cold Bay and that hunt is still the tops for my hunting career. Good shooting. phurley
