Who has experience with Grizzly Cartridge Company? I'm considering them for my 444 Marlin. 300gr Bonded Core at 2100fps-could be some nasty medicine.

Formerly "the444shooter" I think I had about 73,000 posts before I had to re-register Wink

Buddy you just can't go wrong with those loaded rounds from Grizzly Cartridge Company.

The loaded 45/70 rounds are then next best thing to freaking heaven.
and i would think that the 444 Marlin loads would be the same ..

Before you order pick up the phone and call
Mike Rintoul and talk to him yourself .

Mike used to work in Alaske 6 months out of the year before he got grizzley started and has a love affair with big bore guns both rifle and pistol. I have shot both his .500 Linebaugh and his Marlin .450 Alaskan. His ammo is first class and if you are not a reloader then he is a great choice. And as noted a great guy to talk to.

Dang.. i will put in a good word for him with the guy upstairs .

Bullet weights should be on the order of 450 grain 500 grain "525" grain<-- one of the best all around weights for the 50-110.
and 550 grain .. the thing is mike should let me or anyone else send him custom made bullets for him to do load developments with and load up . that means if you find a bullet you like mike should be able to swap out for the same weight and load up up a box or so of them.
It might cost a few bucks more but i know he would do it .

Now for the Vel/ the 500 grain should be running some place around 2300 FPS
same with the 525 grain bullet's
the 450 grain bullet should be around 2400 FPS
thats if Mike keeps the pressures down to around 43.000 or 44.000 PSI.. I know you can load up to 55.000 PSI in my BLR but i dont know if he will make loaded ammo for that type of rifle sinces its kinda unique.

The trouble is the price of the powder that gets high spped and low pressures is now at 26.00 a can Gezzzz i wish it ran on HI Skor 700 X

The convertion is quite cheap .. just look for one of the BLR's in 300 Winchester Magnum
with a pistol grip<- I like the pistol grip vertion best ..
Then its just pull the barrel and slap a new one on and chamber it to 50-110 and buy a sec box for a back up .slip it into your pocket and your out the door.. the BRL feed's like a dream come true.Shells are going to be what costs you ..go to midway and buy them there for reloading and for the best bullet's go to

PA Bullets Custom made hunting bullets

And give the guy a call Big Grin
Or you can PM ... the guy .. " Me " jump
For great .510s in a solid contact Fritz454
The 300 grain solid will slice through almost any game .

The rilfe costs about 599.00 the barrel costs about 285.00 the remaers cost about 85.00 but your going to split the cost with the gunsmith .. he keeps the reamers and guages.
Thats it .
