Heading out next week to try for DIY caribou, wondering if anyone had any reports on what the western arctic herd was doing? Last year they didn't make it to the area until late due to warm weather. Looks like it's been colder this year, and it's cold up that way now. Any input is appreciated! I don't know about the Arctic herd. The Nelchina herd.hasn't really got moving yet. . I glassed about 30,000 acres of very empty country on Sunday. Sorry I'm not much help. Phil Shoemaker : "I went to a .30-06 on a fine old Mauser action. That worked successfully for a few years until a wounded, vindictive brown bear taught me that precise bullet placement is not always possible in thick alders, at spitting distances and when time is measured in split seconds. Lucky to come out of that lesson alive, I decided to look for a more suitable rifle." | |||
