Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

DE323, southeast elk. Very difficult hunt, about 5 elk killed in the last three years or so with this permit.

I drew the new DM 782 Muzzleloader antlerless moose tag. It's a November hunt near Chena. I also drew the Special Forces Kenai Mountain caribou hunt DC 001. What was I thinking. homer

"...I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." Are you sure about your info?

Hunt Details

Permit hunt: DM782
2011 Moose hunting
Number of Permits: 300
Legal Animal: Any moose, taking calves or cows accompanied by calves is prohibited.

Seeing nothing about ML. In Nov, you might be able to sled up the Salcha, otherwise what is the access?

Good Luck!

Check out page 13 of the drawing supplement, They list it as a new hunt, 20B Eastern Headwaters, resident only, certified muzzleloader hunters only, 60 tags, Nov 1 - Nov 30. Any moose, no calves and no cows with calves.

I think you are looking at the DM772 hunt.

Not sure the difference in info. What I posted above is copied from F&G.

http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/ind...d=11229®year=2011

Maybe the fault is the "new & improved" website. Confused

That is confusing. The 2011 drawing supplement lists the same area and hunt as muzzleloader only, 60 tags, same dates. Here is the link to the supplement. It is on page 13.

I am really stumped. Confused

Drew Unit 23 Moose tag. Heading up there on September 6th and staying through the 20th if I have to. Will be my first trip for moose, so I'm pumped.
