We had a antlerless tag and found this sweet old lady who was willing to smile for the muzzle flash! My second oldest boy but a 80gr tsx thru her ribs with his mighty 243 at about 20 yards.
Total hunt time: 15 minutes
Distance packed: 20 yards
Shot distance: 20 yards
Total time from heartbeat to truck bed: 1.5 hours
We’ll see if this picture works...

Outstanding!

"...I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." Lol he’s gone to bed for years asking for hunting stories from work, he’s heard some good ones. Lol we passed on another that was farther off the road and on a Hill....afterward I asked if he was glad we didn’t shoot that one?! He just laughed and said “oh ya!!” He’ll never fully appreciate a ditch moose with his dad until he drops one in a swamp by himself!!

Congratulations to "T man"! dancing

What? you didn't shoot it in the front yard while drinking coffee?

Apparently she didn't know a .243 won't kill a moose!

Next time put an old pumpkin from Halloween in the truck bed. You might avoid that strenuous 20 yard pack. Joyce and I are both in for that tag next year. Fingers crossed.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

I know you don’t guide Moose hunters
But great job with your son.
If all your kids hunt Moose you will need a railroad refrigeration car to hold all the meat.
Well have a great Christmas.

I thought you had to have a minimum of .338 Win Mag to kill Alaskan beasts? Surely that .243 bullet bounced right off the thick hide and you finished it off with a large artillery field piece.... BOOM sofa

If you are going to carry a big stick, you've got to whack someone with it at least every once in while.
