DISCOUNTED ANOTHER $2,500.00 FROM OUR ORIGINAL POST AND ADDED A ROAN INTO THE MIX. VERY GOOD ROAN TAKEN IN THIS AREA EACH YEAR (Last year the three they took ranged from 28-30 inches) Outfitter: Wildcat Safaris Zambia Agent: Jeff C. Neal, Inc. www.jeffcnealinc.com Hunt: Leopard, Roan, buffalo, plainsgame Dates: August 12-August 30 OR September 14-October 15 2011. TO BE ADDED TO OUR SPECIALS AND CANCELLATION LIST, CLICK HERE: This Zambian outfitter has one of the best reputations for big leopards that Zambia has to offer. Since Zambia re-opened for hunting in 2003, they have only failed to shoot a leopard in this area on ONE occasion, which puts the success rate well above 90% on Leopard long term. The client who is currently in camp shot both a big lion and leopard in the first 10 days of his safari. They have one leopard remaining on quota for this year and are offering it at a $8,500.00 discount. This is not a cancellation, just a discounted hunt for the remaining quota. Wildcat has two consecutive concessions on the northern edge of North Luangwa National park in North Eastern Zambia. This area is absolutely enormous in size and is divided in half by the Luangwa River. This area is known for cats and buffalo, but has unbelievable amounts of plainsgame and one of the highest concentrations of hippo and crocodile in Africa. Below are the details of the hunt: Dates Available for 2011: - July 14 - August 12, 2011 - Any 14 days (charter may be shared during these dates, call to inquire) August 25 - September 12, 2011 - Any 14 days (charter may be shared during these dates, call to inquire) 14 day leopard/Eland/Buffalo/Plainsgame hunt – Normal rate is $24,500.00 DISCOUNTED RATE - $16,000.00* This rate includes 14 days of 1x1 hunting, all GMA government fees, safari licenses and bird license, meals, lodging, alcoholic beverages, daily laundry, meet and greet at the airport and hotels. Below are some photos from the area including camp photos. Here's a client of the outfitter's with his leopard taken 2 weeks ago in this area. This client was 6'4", so it's a nice cat. Charter costs: The area is the farthest concession north in the Luangwa, so it can be fairly pricey (I don't have the current rates, they changed last time I checked). I'll look at the schedules and check for shared charter dates, and post what the charter rate is tomorrow. There are two options for the charter: Option One is a shared charter, which is available one way on the following dates: Shared Charter Cost - $3,650 July 24 - Arrive Lusaka, shared charter to camp July 25 - August 7 - 14 day hunt August 8 - Out and back to Lusaka August 1 - Arrive Lusaka, charter to camp August 2-15 - 14 day hunt August 16 - Out and back to Lusaka (charter shared) OPTION 2: SCHEDULED FLIGHT TO SOUTH LUANGWA THEN CHARTER FROM THERE: There are daily commercial flights to South Luangwa. You can fly commercially there for around $250 round trip (Last I checked) and hop on a charter to camp. The charter round trip is $2,800.00. This option is cheaper, but also needs an extra day on arrival and departure to make the morning flights. This means 2 hotel nights, which will add a bit but still come out cheaper than the shared charter.
