We have a brown bear cancellation for the first hunt for this fall, October 11-20, 2011 at an attractive rate. This hunt takes place in the Becherof Wildlife Refuge of the Alaskan Peninsula (Unit 9E), one of the best areas for Monster Brown Bear in Alaska. Our outfitter here has two consecutive hunting concessions, and is usually booked 3-5 years in advance for this hunt. This is the ONLY one available for the 2011 season, with the next opening being October 2015. Because this hunt was booked by our client in 2005, the rates are $5,500 cheaper than what they are today! The hunt will be as follows:


$17,000.00 - Cost of hunt (RATES FOR 2011 AND BEYOND ARE $22,500)

Itinerary will be as follows:

October 8, 2011 - Arrive Anchorage, AK. Overnight (typically we have our guys stay at the Millennium Hotel)
October 9, 2011 - Fly to Blue Mountain on PenAir, travel to the lodge.
October 10, 2011 - Charter out to spike camp with your guide.
October 11-20, 2011 - 10 day brown bear hunt
October 21, 2011 - Catch early flight back to Anchorage and homeward bound (I recommend a changeable airline ticket in case you tag out early).


*This does not include airfare to King Salmon, Alaska to camp and back, license and tag (purchased in camp) or hotels before or after the hunt if necessary.

These hunts offer an excellent opportunity to take a brown bear in the 9'6"-10'6" range. These bears have not been hunted since the spring of 2010, so you will be hunting big bears that have not seen a human in over 18 months. Our clients have taken several Boone and Crockett bears on this hunt, and since we began sending clients with them in 1975 we have not had one single complaint. This is truly the finest brown bear hunt available today, and the only one available at that, so please contact us today if you're interested. References and photos available upon request.

what is the total cost including transfers?
How many hunters share the camp at the same time?

Transfers are done via PenAir, which I believe when I last checked were roughly $500 round trip from Anchorage to Blue Mountain. When you arrive at the lodge, all fly outs are included in this price.

There are normally 8 hunters who fly into the lodge, but you are then assigned a guide and flown out into the Becherof Refuge with just you and the guide, and will not have another hunter for miles. The only time you will see another hunter is when you are finished hunting and back at the main lodge.

It's not uncommon for each hunter to see 20-25 bears per day on this trip, with one of our hunters and his guide reporting seeing over 35 bears on the first day of his hunt last time they did the fall hunt (2009).
