Hunt Meat hunt for Red Deer or Whitetail/Mule Deer.

Location: My Ranch in NW Texas.

Animals: You can take 1 Red Deer hind (female) or 2 Does (Whitetail and/or Mule Deer does, season dates permitting on the Mule Deer and WT Does and limited to a certain number of landowner permits on the Mule Deer Does).

Price 4 hunters $1500 total ($375/hunter with 4 hunters). Price remains at $1500 even if there are 3 hunters or less, but the amount of animals remains the same as well, still 4 hinds. Yes, one hunter can take it for $1500 and shoot all the animals himself (subject to Texas laws on limits of Whitetail.).

Extra Hinds can be taken for $275 each.

2 day hunt, arrive day one in morning or mid day hunt the evening hunt and the morning hunt the next day. Any time of the week.

This is a semi guided hunt. It is a meat hunt. I will be there and show everyone around. It will be a blind/stand hunt. You will need to field dress your own animals, you will be responsible for loading and taking the meat. I have cold storage for the meat, a 4x8 walk in cooler that will handle all the animals for the 4 hunters.

Accommodations included, but no meals.

If you want to hunt Whitetail Does or Mule Deer Does the season is from Nov 7 - Jan 3. We can hunt Hinds any time of the year.

Trophy animals can be added at the following rate:
Trophy Whitetail (under 160 B&C) $3000
Management Whitetail (120-130 on average) $2000
Cull Whitetail (usually under 120) $1250
Fallow Deer $1875
Mouflon $1875
Aoudad Ram $2750
Aoudad Ewe $400

Thanks Geedubya. Hope you can come hunt.

Additional info:

Red Deer Hind weighs between 200-350lbs.

License Info for non-residents: Non-resident 5-day special license is $48. It allows you to hunt exotics (Red Deer) but not native game like Whitetail and Mule Deer. If you are a non-resident, this is $315 to hunt Whitetail or Mule Deer.

I've taken Red Stag with Wendell and the meat was outstanding. This is a fun hunt and the accommodations are very nice. Fully furnished kitchens with grocery store and or restaurants in town. His Aoudad are excellent trophy class. I have been there 3 times and had a great time each hunt. Terrain is very varied with open plains and rough canyons with high ridges. Can be enjoyed by anyone but you'll hunt hard if you want to spot and stalk those juniper covered breaks. I will hunt with him again!

Wendell,

I am trying to get a few guys together for this hunt. GW is one of them. Perhaps if CamomanJ and JeffeOsso(or GatoGordo in his place) read this they may respond favorably! This looks like a great meat hunt!

You should come hunt one of my big stink Goats! I think you would enjoy that hunt.

I have a group of ARers (Or at least one AR'er with his friends) coming this weekend. Weather is supposed to be beautiful. High 65 on Sat. Nice.

I've done a meat hunt with Wendell before and, if you can get past the fact that you are hunting with Wendell, it is a great hunt. Awesome lodging with fantastic views and tolerable company. rotflmo jumping

Honestly, I had a great time and wish I was CONUS this year to do it again.

This is the report from the meat hunt we did with Wendell in Jan of 2007.

I think he has set this one up differently but you get the idea.

Luckily for them, Mike will be the semi-guide for this hunt, so, they are safe. Plus, they have their friends to fall back on so they will not be subjected to my company too much.

Have a listen to we four as we banter around the camp, and one might find the term "friends" a little generous.

Thanks Wendell!

We had a great time, and you have a beautifull piece of Texas!

There are plenty of animals there and as has been mentioned the accomadations and view from the back porch are outstanding. Hearing the Stags roar was major cool.

Thanks for everything Wendell.

What Jtex said !!!!!!!!

Damn fine doins. Glad I took today off work. I got to sleep late (0600) and need to go lay in a stock of ice for all this red deer meat.

Stags roaring, coyotes yippin and game everywhere across a beautiful vista.
