My wife and I have been lucky enough to win 2 tickets with Emirates to Dubai.

Can anyone suggest what to do besides the usual tourist traps, something out of the ordinary.

When are you going? It’s still hot there, but wonderful weather is only a few months away. Have you decided where you’ll stay? Lots of wonderful lodging options.

Too bad Seawings isn’t flying, quite a nice tour. My wife and I spent several hours in the textile souk, rode a water taxi to get there, lots and lots of different vendors, there are narrow alleys off of the main area and there are lots of gold and jewelry shops there. Felt perfectly safe.
I guess Dubai Mall is one of the usual tourist destinations, but it is amazing. You’ll have fun I’m sure.

Go up to the top of the Burg Khalifa. Touristy but the view of the desert and all of Dubai is something special. We stayed at one of the Jumeirah resorts. There are 4 of them all interconnected with canals and free water taxis. All are directly on the beach.

Marina area is very good.

Most hotels provide transport to Dubai Mall.

We are going to be in Tanzania hunting at that time.
