holzer375Dubai Weekend
My wife and I have been lucky enough to win 2 tickets with Emirates to Dubai.
Can anyone suggest what to do besides the usual tourist traps, something out of the ordinary.

DLSWhen are you going? It’s still hot there, but wonderful weather is only a few months away. Have you decided where you’ll stay? Lots of wonderful lodging options.

K EvansToo bad Seawings isn’t flying, quite a nice tour. My wife and I spent several hours in the textile souk, rode a water taxi to get there, lots and lots of different vendors, there are narrow alleys off of the main area and there are lots of gold and jewelry shops there. Felt perfectly safe.
I guess Dubai Mall is one of the usual tourist destinations, but it is amazing. You’ll have fun I’m sure.

jdollarGo up to the top of the Burg Khalifa. Touristy but the view of the desert and all of Dubai is something special. We stayed at one of the Jumeirah resorts. There are 4 of them all interconnected with canals and free water taxis. All are directly on the beach.

holzer375We arrive in Dubai 14th October and leave 17th October.
We have not booked accommodation yet but thinking somewhere near the Marina.

SaeedMarina area is very good.
Most hotels provide transport to Dubai Mall.
We are going to be in Tanzania hunting at that time.
