Clay dug up a #1 in .300 H&H that I"ve decided to jump on.

Would like opinions from those of you who have more experience than I selecting a blank.

CEX33 and CEX 235 caught my eye. Preferences between the two, or am I missing something?

picking "Pretty" is a matter of pure preference.

The .300 H&H isn't a vastly serious recoiling cartridge so being careful about grain flow through the wrist section isn't terribly important.....also that you're looking at a two piece stock means also that warpage due to grain flow is not as critical either.....

I'd pick as pretty as I could afford!

Some of those pieces of wood are "drop dead" gorgeous!

TH-99 would be my pick and I didn't look at any prices.

The last 3 will all turn nice but 121 if held to one side will be a keeper and Tony will know what to do Smiler

Well Doug: If it was a choice between #33 & 235 I would pic 235, #33 is just too different side to side (grain wise). If it was my choice from all of them I would pic #214 - beautiful stock. JMHO - FWIW --- John303.

I'd pick either X121 or SS112. I really like X121 if the kind of blank spot of figure on the left side would turn out, as it looks like it would. But everyone has their own tastes, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream when everyone knows Bluebell White Chocolate Almond is the best.
