I like the Old School look such as Scrollcutter shows. I come across a lot of custom rifles with no markings that are attributed to a known gunmaker not known for marking. More info is usually better, if twist, blank manufacturer etc is on the bottom of the barrel someone in the future will be happy. Mark | |||

 My camera is trying to take a dump on me...sorry for picture quality. This is what I have done in the past, at 2.250" it seems a bit long but I like the top to bottom length of each letter. TC1, I love that grip cap. I would think that even on a skeleton grip cap there would be enough room for the makers to have their names engraved. Doug | |||

CP Donnelly used a machine to engrave his name on barrels. I'm not sure what the proper name of it was but it had plates that were about 4 inches by 16 inches and they had the pattern cut into them, then the pointer on the machine followed the track and cut the name into the barrel, reducing the 16 inches to about 1 1/2". | |||
