I drew a bull tag last year and in my haste to get my 450 Ultra done in time for the permit. I tossed the reamer, action, stock and barrel in a box and sent it to Benchmark Barrels in Arlington WA to just have them get it up and running and back to me in a hurry for the permit season. Shortly after I shot my bull with it I sent it off to Kampfeld Custom. I had it bedded, the base holes opened to 8/40, the bolt TI fluted, a hunter bolt knob installed and the caliber designated on the barrel. Karl does pristine work and is well worth the wait. Here are a few pictures of his finishing work on my Benchmark built 450/ .375 Ultra Magnum. I was just going to have it designated 450 Ultra Magnum but I had several PH's tell me it was a better idea to designate it 450/ .375 Ultra Magnum if I ever planned on taking it over seas. Due to the head stamp issue. They said as long as the deisgnation had .375 Ultra Mangum in it like the head stamp on the brass I use to form the 450's cases, I would be good to go.

I keep checking but the CEB web site doesn't show any.458 Raptors in stock yet. Or do they? You know something I don't know! You and Michael holding out on me with a stashed pile of .458 Raptors?

I would call CEB
They probably have not updated their site yet. Michael tested them with flying colors.

They're not on the website either but I ordered 2 boxes of the .500 350gr Raptors last week...received them a few days later.

You know, That's a beautiful rifle. Well done my friend!

I love my .45-70's, but somehow, I think you've outdone them by far. 350's at ? velocity?

And I like the designation of .450/375 Ultra Magnum. It looks greaton the barrel. I'll probably never see Africa and that's okay. There's still plenty of stuff to hunt in Wyoming. What an excellent elk rig.

Brake works well?

The fastest I have pushed a 350 is 2842. I had to change the brake from the original brake I had the rifle built with. I had the rifle built with a Harrell's brake and it was down right VIOLENT off the bench!

This was the original brake( Harrell's )

I sent it back to Benchmark Barrels and had them install a 4-Port Muscle brake with a extra port machined in the top and a custom set screw.

This was my bloody shoulder after the first bench session with the Harrell's brake.

This is a recovered 350gr Speer HotCore that I recovered from a bull Elk shot at 302 yards, the first big game animal I had taken with the rifle. Test media per say. The bullet was recovered just under the hide on the off side.
