Finally, some great custom rifles unveiled again. Fantastic lines and appreciate the overall look of this rifle. Gorgeous gun!

Now that would also be a righteous 6.5 Grendel!

In my estimation that is the standard for what a bolt actioned rifle should look like. Absolutely beautiful. Why can't one of the major rifle manufacturers (not Remington) make a stock profile like that. It would add a touch of class not seen in a half century to the commonly affordable rifle. I hope the barrel gets shot out on that gun. Would be ashamed for it to still look that nice in 10 years.

Wonderful, stunning!

Would never have guessed it was on such a small action. Looks like a proper big game rifle. Well done.

Well done rifle. Classic lines and a nice piece of wood. I for one appreciate wood that has some figure without being over the top.

I built one along the same lines in 6x45, it shoots .200 give or take a bit, so I never put the irons on it, scared the heat might effect that accuracy, but I will someday,,Its my 5.5 Lb. African walk about rockchuck rifle, but Ive mostly hunted Antelope and deer with it and the 80 gr. GS Custom bullet..I built it in 1981 or 82...has mod 70 safety made from a bull barrel 30-06...They are such beautifull little actions and scaled to the rounds..

YOu did yourself proud on that one, great dark wood..

Great pics too. They don't just fall out of a cellphone with a flash, do they?

Nice soft light. My best guess. Outside on an overcast cloudy day?

That is the prettiest L461 I've ever seen. I love everything about it except perhaps the choice of scope mounting systems.

The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.

I would never mount a scope on that rifle. Learn to use those opens.
A scope on it is like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa

Oh boy! I absolutely love it!

I've got a couple L461's that will have to be done for a couple of my daughters so you've set the bar way high for me. I hope I'm up to the task.

Congratulations for being so damn good....and sharing the pics with us

That could be a very costly gun. It sure invites a couple of scaled up versions in the Sako Forrester and Finnbear Big Grin Be a real nice trio.

Great looking rifle, one the best I have seen.

The cheekpiece detail and the crispness of that checkering are absolutely wonderful.

On the whole, a piece that is just a tad down from severely classic because of the racy line of the long grip. seems like everything that needs to be there is there, and nothing is there that doesn't need to be there. Duane's bottom metal also looks crisp! Now perhaps a few scratches in the metalwork?

A rifle to keep for a lifetime!!!!

Very nice work. I never understood why older Sakos have not been used for custom rifle projects more often, they are such fine rifles. Tasteful treatment on the bolt handle.
