Where and when?
My guess is, it's recently seperated from mom and is just roaming. We've had a couple turn up in odd places near Denver recently.
So Idaho last fall.
I'm told the sub-adults are pushed out and are seeking their own territory.

SGraves155In the past week, bears have shown up in town in Van Buren and in Farmington in NW Arkansas.
People would go bananas if we had a cougar show up.
