Perry Arnett once made the conversion on a hi-power.

Maybe he made SOMETHING out of parts from a Hi-Power but he didn't rechamber a Hi-Power from 9mm or 40 S&W to 9mm Win Mag.

The 40 S&W has a loaded LOA of 1.135" -vs- 1.575" of the 9mm Win Mag.

Ha sanyoe actually SEEN the alleged device or are we talking historical vaporware ...??

Does he mean 'magazine' ?? Probably won't work. There are a number of pistol modifications I've heard of over the years that are "possible" but are not reliable !!!

In the article, he says it worked fine, but someone stole it. That's apparently the only one that was ever in existence. Cool

plainsman, if you mean a 9mm magazine being converted to accept 40S&W, the answer is yes. You will need to do feed lip work to widen them so that the 40 will sit higher and be stripped from the mag. Generally it invloves widening them AND then filing them down some. We did it a lot when the 40 first came out and there were no mags.

I think larrys has the answer. The question likely regards mag azines, not mag nums
