It was that or my Taurus 605. I went revolver so my wife and I can carry the same thing. She doesn't like slides.

Haven't tried it, but the .40 version I have fired with 180 gr. Hydra-Shoks was surprisingly mild mannered. It belonged to a friend of mine who asked me to shoot it. Glad I did, because it was better than I thought it would be. If the .45 ACP version is reliable, should be great firepower in a very compact pistol! Wink

The S&W model 457 is an excellent .45ACP carry piece. Mine has been flawless in terms of reliability. definitely worth a look.

If recoil is managable, it looks like a great CC weapon.

Jeff,
I have a Taurus 24/7 in .45 ACP. If youi'd like to try it, I'll get it to ya.

If you are getting a used one, or old stock, make sure it is the "Pro" model. The earlier ones had frames that crack.

I almost picked one up in my quest for compact DAO .45's, but passed on it because there were no night sights available for it at the time.
