Man, that is a true piece of working art!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

While I am not experienced enough to know if this rifle qualifies as a London Best, It sure looks the part to me! Wow, what wood...

Top stuff Jeff

The best Jeffery around - you don't often see them
around but they are top rifles.

Good pick up.

I have never handled a Jeffery rifle that did not fit me perfect. I really like them

That is one of the best looking Jeffery's I have ever seen.

And in 450/400... a perfect calibre.

What spires, what farms are those?

I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

I had one just like that. SN 12804. It had a red rubber recoil pad though. 24in barrels, ejectors. It didn't quite fit me right, being too high in the comb. Left it with a local dealer to sell when I left to deploy overseas on operations. My "friend" sold it on to one of the major firearm distributors and used the proceeds to offset his bill with them. I think I ended up with about $700 US by the time the banks finished with him. The world's cheapest double ain't that great when you're the seller.
