It's just crazy expensive for a Chapuis .470 with some cartoon-ey gold inlay.

FWIW, I've been to the seller's store, Kevin's, in Thomasville GA (near Tallahassee FL) and it is very cool. Kevin will probably have this rifle at SCI/Vegas.

You guys don't seem understand. This rifle is for the guy who has everything, and money to burn! After all, where are you going to find another one like it?

You all are far too polite.

Same mindset no doubt as a patient I heard about with the twin tattoos "Do not enter" and an arrow pointing to their anus seen when they presented for colonoscopy.

Apologies if anyone is sporting something similar!

I saw that rifle last year in Dallas... It was a hoot to hold and read all the info the owner had engraved on it. Oh yea! I think he was from New Jersey.

I emailed Michael Burnett yesterday. Told him he was either a bit early or late for an April fools joke. He responded "what do you mean?" I replied "the engraving, did you photoshop it?" He replied "not at all, that's why I bought it".

True story!! shocker

Suffice it to say there are just a few folks out there you would not share a mopane fire with.
The rifle is just plain hideous.

What's up with the 2 dots behind every buff spoor? Was it walking in deep mud? Smiler

I think it is lacking another engraving at the end of the tubes. Something like "way out" or "here it goes!"

Maybe it was done by the competition to defame Chapius.
It's abhorrent.
Nothing a bastard file won't fix.
It looks like a gun Jim Carrey's character Lloyd in "Dumb and Dumber" would have ordered.
Someone please buy it and reverse the damage done to that fine rifle.

If they pay me the asking price I'd consider taking it and rectifying the cosmetic damages. Wink
