All:

For those of you who are interested, I just got off the phone with Butch who gave me a final update on the gun.

Butch said he finished regulating it yesterday and that "we are going to be able to shoot quarters out of the sky with it."

That is nice to hear!

Today he is finishing polishing the barrels, tomorrow the barrels are getting blued and this weekend Butch will finish the gun.

Butch said he is going to send it our, via overnight, to us on Monday.

Photos of the finished gun will be forth coming after the Camp Cooley trip next weekend.

The gun is being shipped to an FFL holder close to my father.

I would ask him to post pictures, but, well, he's a computer retard - his avatar proves it.

I will get photos up ASAP!

Well, got home from running errands this afternoon, checked my email, found something in my in box:

Forgive the photo orientation - I can't rotate it in my program for some reason today.

This gun is starting its journey to Pennsylvania tomorrow!!!

We ordered this gun in April of 2005 and it is finally heading home!

Sure is a beautiful rifle. I understand your father lives in PA and you are about two hours away from me. Any chance of shooting this fine piece when you visit your father in PA? Always wanted to try a 577. Can let you shoot an old Rigby double in 450 N.E. for comparison. Let me know on possible location. Thanks.

Ribyman:

Our .577 is a rifle that my father purchased and had built together. The rifle is staying in PA as my father has a better gun safe and all of our reloading equipment.

My pop has gotten together with Retreever on a number of occasions, and I think he missed the shoot you attended.

When Mike gets back from Africa, they'll plan another shoot and bring out the .577. If you can make it, you are more than welcome to come and shoot it...just take a handful of asprin beforehand.

If I can make it up, I will.

Well, the old man just picked the rifle up at the FFL holder.

He said it is even prettier in person.

Now the shitty part. I have to wait until Thursday evening to see it!

My old man will be taking photos of the gun later this evening. I will be posting more photos tonight or tomorrow.

Also, it might be a good idea to leave the rifle in the case as well. Big Grin

Please, at least one photo looking straight into the muzzle! If it swings well you could also use it for home defense. Be sure to tell the DA you thought it was your shotgun.
