Nice looking gun. These old guns if not monkeyed with are great. I have a similar 450-400 and its made like they should be. The price seems high to me for an Army Navy unless its all original and in perfect shape.

Nice curb appeal. Even if the bores are great it's over priced! Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. It is a nice rifle. By the way, the University of Glasgow has the Army & Navy records and will do a serial number search for free and send a pdf of the records page. I have the sister to that gun in 450 3 1/4. Same Webley A&W C action, considered by many the best boxlock action from the time. Mine does not have ejectors. I paid less than that and I believe this rifle has either been listed for awhile now or listed before. ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141

Beautiful rifle but way over priced. Jim: How can you show your rifle in public and still hold your head up? That's why I keep mien locked in a safe so they are hidden from view. Besides the extra amount of engraving on that Army & Navy double, the teardrops on the gunstock, and the raised bolster area on the rear of the handguard, indicate that this is a deluxe version of an Army & Navy. Wm Evans Deluxe doubles had the same features. That is one nice double rifle. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

I kept my head down while typing. I've also learned if I tell everyone it's Joyce's they feel sorry for her and don't say anything. ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141

I seen Frostbit's rifle in person and the engraving on it would put pretty much any modern engraved firearm to shame. It is a true work of art. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

For actual shooting/hunting use, I would take a Webley built double rifle [ie. a Army & Navy, Evans, Gibbs, London Sporting Park, etc.] or a Jefferies/Leonard built double, over a H&H, or a Westley Richards any day. IMHO of course. Frostbit, your rifle is most excellent as well. Especially since it is a 450 3 1/4". DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

I have a fondness for the Army-Navy rifles of that period. However, I too believe it is overpriced. The bores are only good to very good. I didn't know rifling could stand tall as it is only so many thousandths deep. This rifle is more in line with Champlin's Manton 470 that George has at around $25k but with excellent bores. And truth be known George would probably part with his for $24k. Dutch

That is a lovely rifle. Somehow Roger Bain rings a bell strongly. I may know him through a very good friend. Would you like me to see if the Roger Bain, Inc. selling the rifle is related to the Roger Bain friend of a really good friend? Frostbit, Joyce's rifle is also lovely! JPK Free 500grains

+1 Very nice rifle though. You can always offer lower. I'm sure you've heard "no" before. Jim is correct that it has been listed for a while. It's likely worth at least 3-4k less than the advertised price, but that's my 2 cents.
