Remington double worth it?

Today I received the following from Hornady concerning the LEVERevolution 45/70 cartridges:

"Tom, It is loaded to 27,000 PSI. thanks"

I believe that is still within SAAMI, but it is too hot for my taste. And, I have seen a number of comments here that they wack you a good one. 99% of my hunting is under 50 yards as my stand covers a main trail squeezed tight between two lakes. Starting to sound like cowboy loads will do everything I need.

There has been talk here that Remington would be discontinuing the double rifle. Well, if you go to spartangunworks.com, you are taken directly to remington.com and, at the Remington site there is ABSOLUTELY no mention of Spartan Arms, Baikal shotguns or rifles, anything. Methinks the Remington/Baikal marriage has ended in divorce.

Now it will be interesting to see if EAA picks up the ball and dealer cost on Baikal firearms drops back to the days before Remington took over and jacked the prices way up.

Tom

Checked out EAA's web site and nothing is mentioned about Baikal. HOWEVER, I emailed them and received this response this morning:

"Sir,
Please visit our other website @ www.ussginc.com , we did take the line back over from Remington in January 2009 .
Thank You"

Looks like I may have paid a premium for my rifle when I could have waited a bit and bought it for dealer cost through work. Ah well!

The calibers are 30/06 and 45/70. That's on the PDF file. Prices? Companies never list their prices on web sites. You're going to have to go to a dealer and have them check with their distributor(s).

Jeffeosso and Jimcat, It has been a number of months since you scoped your guns with that mount from Pyramid Air. How are they holding up to the recoil?
