With all due respect to Shootaway, I just paid my deposit on (for me) the best double in the world. It's a Royal Grade H&H in .375 Flanged 2 1/2". I have a small's farm (100 acres) full of little South Georgia whitetails (and a few hogs) and I just figured that they needed the respect of London's finest.

It's still in Merry Ol' awaiting import permits, but I should have it well before Thanksgiving.

This is my second .375 Flanged Nitro Express 2.5". The first did it's duty well with plains game on a couple of safaris and maybe this one will take a few weeks off from the ardors of protecting my woods from vicious 100 lb. deer and go get a kudu or sable or something.

What do you think?

Very nice, Judge G. Do you have a date? Perhaps a photo of the barrel flats and water table?

Expect Graham Wright may have recorded a modern load for this deerslayer.

My Cogswell & Harrison in the same caliber was regulated for 40 grains of cordite and a 270 grain bullet. Knyoch loads to duplicate that combination. I have a test target fired last Wednesday in England at W-R (from whom I'm buying the rifle). They used that ammo and it was just perfect.

Frank Beller has a .375 Nitro Express 2 1/2" (that I sold him, alas!) and he's sending me dies, etc. to fool with. Fun on a winter afternoon.

Awesome double Judge. Cabelas in Ft. Worth had one very similar a year or so back. I lusted over that thing for a couple of months.

I hope it brings you many years of happiness.

That is a nice looking rifle.I especially like the last Searcy you bought. The H&H has it all though-chopper lump, fine stock,engraving...only problem is that it is old-if that is a problem for this particular rifle.

Congratulations - do you know when it was built? H&H build a sweet rifle. I have a 450no2 H&H Royal that was built in 1906. It is as good today as the day it left the show room.....if they had a show room then.

Enjoy!

That IS a damn nice looking rifle!
Many get hung up on the "too bad it isn't a magnum" stuff but the 2-1/2" will do 90% of the magnum and is perfect for your purposes.
Even for an "old" gun...

Thing about a rifle like this is if the deer and pigs aren't cooperating you can have fun just admiring it.
