I just noticed that the Searcy Field Grade will go up in price next year. The website said: January 1, 2010 the price of the Field Grade will be $11,500.00 It is $9,995 now. I ordered one in October in .450 NE. Personally, I think it's the best value out there for a "working" double. Use a double rifle. It just feels better. Double Rifle Shooters Society

Guess this means the Field Grade is not being discontinued after all. Nice to see Butch giving a heads up on the price increases. Could be the push a person needs to finally get that order in. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

That's why I posted it. It would be a shame if someone waited a bit too long to get their order in. Like you, I had read somewhere that the Field Grade would be discontinued after 2009. I guess that info was wrong. I think I put my order in about a week or so after you did. Mine will be as you described yours, a LH .450 NE, but without the Talley Rings. Since the 80's, I have had a Ruger #1 in .375 H&H with a Redfield 1-4X scope for longer range duties. Use a double rifle. It just feels better. Double Rifle Shooters Society
