Our discussion on the previous thread about a HEYM 577 Boxlock has spurred us into action... you must say we're responsive to the market.

Fantastic news! Will it be in 3"? Also when is production due? And any idea of the price range?

Yes, they will be 3" chambers. First two will be complete in April.

Weight can vary from @ 12 to 13 lbs. Various barrel contours can be used to effect the weight, but we'll need to select one to keep costs down.

We also want avoid weight in the butt stock, and barrel contour plays a big role here.

Adding weight to the butt can balance a rifle when the barrels are too heavy, but it balances it like a seesaw with the weight on the ends of the rifle.

We want to keep the weight in the middle (where it belongs.) Wink

20K is the target price for the 577.

Thanks Chris. Your explanation of the 'see-saw effect' vs 'weight in the middle' is spot on!
