This weekend whil turkey hunting I witnessed something very strange. A turkey with a red head and no beard ( we waatched it at 20 yards for severall minutes)went right up to our hen doecy and putted at it. The turkey then tried to mont the decoy. It also strutted for thhhhe decoy. I finally slapped the decoy with its wings and knocked it over.

Needless to say this was extrmely interrsting to watch, but from an apreent hen makes no sense. Any ideas.

A Lesbian turkey? I have a blue-heeler bitch and a spaniel bitch, both spayed, both lesbian. The little blue-heeler hates male dogs; the spaniel is new this year, and I haven't seen her interact with any stray males. They seem to make a happy pair. Got both from Dog Shelter. Have had the heeler for 4 years. I didn't know lesbianism occurred in dogs till I got her. Sounds like it occurs in turkeys, too. Altho the red head sounds more like a jake.
