Rats! Just heard from another good Campfire compadre who found a used copy of my book at a criminally high price.

Guys, you can get a NEW copy at the original price from www.huntingtons.com. It's an exact-replica reprint of the original hard-bound printing. (When the web site appears, wait until a narrow menu appears on the left side of your screen. Click on "Books & Videos," then scroll down — several other good books there, too!)

Don't spend extra to get the same ol' thing! My book was never worth what some used-book dealers have been selling it for.

Is this a commercial plug?

To call my post "a commercial plug" is to ignore the fact that I don't get a bloody penny from any that Huntington's (or anybody else) sells.

Ken,
Don't sweat it. A lot of guys that post have business and it is all a little advertising.

Did you notice that Duane Wiebe has a book for sale on the gunsmithing forum? I will order it and have no problem with it.

I got my book in 1997 and was fortunate enough to share some conversation and have Ken sign it at the Jamboree in 1999. I have used it for a reference on many projects.

Ken,
I also have a signed copy of your first book,
Outstanding ref material, used all the time.

What is the status of the second one you were working on?

Are you still looking for Bolo Tips made from small cases? Cool

Mr. Howell:

I just purchased your "reprint" - Huntington has a very un-user-friendly purchase mechanism and their "new" system was "unavailable". I expect your book will make me rethink the $700+ box of reamers and gauges the folks at PTG delivered yesterday.

While I suspect you have already seen the Amazon offerings of new and used "originals", for those folks that wonder what they're going for...

2 new from $494.50 9 used from $234.93 - see http://www.amazon.com/Designin...ndguns/dp/0964362309

The lowest other sources for used "originals" were all above $100.

This is a great classic book and should be reprinted. Out of print books frequently go through the roof on price .... which is why they get reprinted.

A contemporary one that covers all the topics is Wildcat Cartridges by Fred Zeglin also available from Amazon.
