404-376?
Is there enough case on the 376 to go up to 404? Possibly improved, like the 416 Aagaard, if there's not enough shoulder?

Yes, you have to blow out the taper a bit. Do a search and I discussed this before. Short action big bore. I like the 410-376 better than the 416-376.

sure.. .but one could argue the 376 started as a 404 anyway ... as the 10,75x68, shortened and necked down to .375,

Funny you mention the 10.75x68mm Jeffe... That's what got me in a pickle! Brass has more or less dried up, except Bertram. Been trying for a few months to get the Germans to give me a straight answer, nothing. No response from Qual Cart on their "back order" status and next (if ever) run, and same with Buffalo Arms converted brass. So I'm left with a good barrel, several actions, and ideas of how to cobble them together. Got 2 98's and 2 yugo's, the 423 bbl, as well as 2 .375s and a 7x57 short chamber.

I was thinking a matching pair of yugos, in 376 and 404-376 or 416 Steyr or 416 Aagaard.

And yes, Boomy, the 404-375 is in the back of my mind too Wink Just need a Win 70 or 1999 to fall in my lap. Got a gorgeous piece of almost finished (needs checking and finish) from the Winchester custom shop.

The 410-376 is easier. Or make a 404 wildcat using 284 brass

If you talk .376 Steyr, it´s parent case is 9,3x64. Quite easy to find.

Of course, as I consider defeat on the 10.75x68....I get notified brass is back in stock. 50 cases on the way!

Who has the brass?

Buffalo Arms. Pretty sure it's modified brass, belted ammo hit with a lathe. I also finally got a response from Rocky Mountain. They can do it, but they'll need to make a new die. $100 set up cost, then $75/box of 20. I put out anther feeler to the Germans as well, for Hornerber

Rocky Mountain is new to me, any experience with their cases?

I bought 50 rounds from Buffalo Arms years ago.

Try chambering an empty case before reloading any rounds. New brass will not chamber in my 1930 Mauser Type B rifle. The resized brass is on the left.

Jim, i believe I've seen your pics of the buffalo cases before, that's what lead me to them.

I usually FL size new stuff, but thank you for the heads up. The gun is still in parts-gathering status, so I won't know how off the cases are for a few months yet. Might have found a lead on Horneber brass actually shipping brass here, so I'll have both hopefully.
