As the primary market for the proposed brass will likely be BR or other accuracy oriented shooters, some other things may come into play regards basic brass sales. For instance: Are the flash holes punched, or drilled? Is the maker an experienced high quality brass producer, or someone like Winchester/Remington/Federal (who make good brass for all around use, but not of the quality chosen by many benchresters)? What is the envisioned pricing structure?

Not any of the "big three" you mention, and is domestically produced. They've been making PPC brass for awhile now. With any luck will be visiting the facility shortly. Once I get all the details(Length, OD at given length, primer pockets and headstamp) I'll lay it out for everyone - at that point the initial order will likely be placed. Pricing will likely be right around what the A/A Grendel pricing is now .60-.70 +/- depending on the size of the order.

That is in the price range of 220 Russian by Lapua that is excellent. I have used it from 17cal-30 cal. I don't know of anybody that might be interested. Please understand that I am not giving you a hard time, just telling you my opinion. Butch

I agree with Butch. Having it in the same price range as Grendel brass, I don't see much of a market being there. Grendel ammo is overpriced in my opinion, but they can perhaps pull it off to some degree as it is a copyrighted proprietary cartridge. I know the price of the ammo has kept me from even considering the 6.5 Grendel for any of my black rifles. unless the producer is Lapua, Norma, Sako, or RWS, I will not purchase any PPC basic brass at Grendel prices until it has proved itself in the market place AND I develop some personal need for it not served by the Lapua I already use. If it turns out to be equal quality to Lapua but at a better price than Lapua, I would be interested. Otherwise not. Am not trying to rain on your parade, just trying to explain to you the thought process that many users of PPC brass for competition will probably go through before buying. Outstanding quality brass is already available. It is no harder to neck it up than to neck basic brass down. Either way necks will still likely have to be turned afterward, for use in competition rifles. So, if there is no labour advantage, what advantages could there be? Well, one could be price, but apparently that is not envisioned. Another could be better quality, but that remains to be seen and will be a tough row to hoe when compared to Lapua. So, I commend you for thinking about the possibility, and for pursuing a potential domestic source. But, I also caution you that the market for PPC brass is a tough one, so you must be able to identify specific clear advantages to using the basic brass proposed before you are likely to sell much of it....at least on other than a one-time basis. Another caution; Just the fact that the proposed maker already manufactures some PPC brass says nothing about the brass quality. To sell well it will likely have to be made by a company whose name is already associated with premium quality controls in its products, in order to do well in this tough market segment. It's kind of like the .30-BR brass market. You can make it out of GI .308 cases easily enough. Or you can make it from R-P 7 BR even more easily. Or, you can make it from 6 BR Lapua brass. Guess which one most .30-BR competitive shooters use? The one with best reputation for both consistent, & high quality, brass...and that isn't either the GI or the R-P stuff. Perhaps if you could tell us who the proposed manufacturer is, we'd be able to give you an even more specific reaction. Best wishes, however it goes. AC
