I'd need to know the exact case length of the wildcat 44-08 AKA 429 DRD

It is also know as 429 x 40 mm but I'd like to have a more accurate measure

If I cut down a '08 case to the shoulder the resulting length will be about 1.550" / 39,37 mm
Thanks

You can have any case length you want as you'll be trimming it to length to fit your chamber and headspace on the case mouth. Your also better off using 30/06 brass.

Boom...

when I will have another supply of 240 Weat brass I will make your wildcat too
Just made a 444 rimless using the 9.3 x 62 brass instead of 30/06..no fireform needed,Next step is to make your 404/375..will receive some 375 brass this week

Con,
that's right.Anyway, since it will be added to my cartridge collection I'd like to have a case length that actually exist and already used

Pivi,
In that case there are two I know of. One is the full length 30/06, the other is full length for a 308Win. In a sense there's another in the 44AutoMag.

Making dummy cases is hard as they are straight sided, your 30/06 brass opened will have a definite taper that will show as a distinct bulge where you seat your projectile. Ideally, you'd like it to be smooth like a 444Marlin case. Not sure it can be done with tapered expanders etc...
Cheers...

Con,
yes,I saw the thread about the 2" and 2.225" 444 rimless' here in this forum and in the shooterforum too.

Anyway there should be also the 40 mm version of this cartridge known as 429 DRD . I think that "40 mm" is a generic dimensional data, would like to know the accurate measure

Cool Pivi
Please post pics and tell me what you think.
The 240 WBY cases might need a bit of inside reaming but having a belt gives the advantage of a conventional headspacing and crimping. This would be good at a shorter length for 2.25" micro action length as well.
