Wildcats on .35Rem case?

I have a few model 81s and a couple bolt guns and have often wondered about a 375 or larger if it would work on this case. I am not a wildcatter. However, if this one holds any merit I could become one!

My thoughts are, with the powder capacity of the 35 Rem, you would gain nothing, [in fact loose a bunch] because bullets in .375 are not designed for the low velocities you will get with your wild cat.

Just get some Hornady 35 Rem Lever Evolution.

Not realy N E 450 No2

there are great bullets for the 375 win in 200 to 250 grains that should fall in that functional impact velocity.

Another option is to do a casemouth headspace for 410 pistol and 300 grain 405 win bullets.

Using 308 brass might be better though for a shoulder.

If I was going to shoot 200& 250s I'd stay with the 35Rem.

As usual just my $.02

I like my 35s. I was just looking towards a case that perhaps had been overlooked for making new wildcats. As for bullets,...... The flatpoint for the 375Win comes to mind first. The 235 Speer is a really soft bullet and would probably work well also. It might be cool with a supressor too!

There would be so little of a shoulder left that headspacing would be a problem. If you AI'd it then you get into feeding issues.

Now a 35-300 Savage would be doable in an 81

375Win

After the first shot the rest are just noise

Kinda reminds me of a silk purse and a sows ear...

Now I think a 35 Rem is a good hunting cartridge, my Sister in law uses one...
[The 35 Rem is rimless]

I also think the 375 Win is a good cartridge...
It has a rim...

I just do not see what you would gain by mixing the bullets of one with the case of the other...

A lot of $$$$, and Drama., with no real gain in killing power... IMHO of course...
