Ha! I’ve found a rifle for sale in .30 Cougar. Says that on the barrel anyway.

Looks like a ‘50s-‘60s vintage rifle. Can’t find anything about the cartridge.

At least one 30 Cougar was a necked down 357 Auto Mag Pistol cartridge.

Hmmmm . . . . Big Grin

AFAICT, it's an improved .30-30.

I have concluded that I am not interested.

I don't think that there are any .30 caliber wildcats that I would be interested in. .30 cal is pretty much a saturated market. 300 blackout to 30-378 and all the "improved" cartridges, every velocity range is pretty much covered. I'm sure someone has already done a .30 cal by 20mm round.

100% true!

I confess, however, that I sometimes see a rifle and for a little while try to talk myself into buying it. cuckoo

Not listed in Donnelly's book. CH-4D doesn't show it. Make a chamber cast if you really want to know.
