I saw an article recently that discussed a 357 AR. IT used a 5.56/223 case blown out to 357/358 diameter. Standard bolt head/bolt carrier group and 223 magazines (modified to function) were used in this build. The cartridge/rifle approximated the 357 Remington Maximum. The 357 Max reloading dies were used to load this cartridge. Does anyone know of a builder of an AR of this nature? The writer if the article built it for himself and his son. I would like to have a close copy of this rifle but I do not have the equipment or skills to do this myself. Who does this kind of work? 6-/--7

223 case is pretty darn close to .375 at the casehead -- .375-.358-.017, and that means both neck reaming and zero taper -- though the chamber could have taper, the case can't -- the .338 is realistically the largest dia bullet for a .223 case ... but there is a 9x39, was used by spetnaz, for close range work ... about or less than 35 rem... a 35 rem, slightly shortened, would work FINE in an ar platform .. custom bolt opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Words aren't Murder - Political assassination is MURDER Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Seems that the .357 AR works just fine for this guy. Run at 35Rem pressures it'll probably not have any issue with extraction despite the limited body taper. http://castboolits.gunloads.co...8Max-Rimless%29-AR15
