Would be good to have actual measured bushmaster cases. Those manufacturers can get a little lose on their finished product some times. Ideally you would want to have a chamber that could accomodate both brass sources. Well the bushmaster is probably softer brass and cheaper. If you were going for a bolt action than you would want to use 284 brass. 284 brass would last forever at the lower pressures this is designed for. I would just use bushmaster brass and shoot both the 450 bushmaster and 323 Kabluewy on a 450 bushmaster donor gun that swaps barrels easily. Seems this cart could fill the niche between the ak47 7.62x39 and the 308 in semi auto shorter barrels. I see the 160 or 165 grain bullets being ideal but 200 grains at 2,250 could be a great hog/bear projectile. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. Might be a minor issue but if the original taper of the bushmaster is used it might help with the feeding of full mags. Seems the bushmaster has about 25 thou taper total so maybe reduce the total taper to 20 thousandths. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. I have seen several AR-15 shooters here just neck the AK case up to 338 with zero issues. Just open the bolt face up to take the 7,62x39 casehead, and buy standard AR mags for the AK round. It would be pretty simple to just have the .338" reamer cut for 8mm instead. As you probably already know, if you blow out the case and neck it to 6mm you have a 6PPC, most likely THE most accurate round in benchrest. Rich | |||
