Looking at the 222 necked up. Advantages over the 270 Ingram is the long neck capable of shooting the nominal 270 bullets deep and still keeping it to 2.25". Shoot the 6.8 SPC bullets with the loss of say 100 fps over the 6.8 SPC and shoot heavy 270 bullets at subsonic levels or faster. Kind of like a 270 version of the 300 Blackout or 300 whisper but more versatile. Should have a .35" neck. What do you think? Anyone have a few 222 used cases to make dummy rounds? 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. (Founder)

Maybe use the 222RM case for even more neck length...or the 223 case sized in the 270 Ingram die...270 TCU "short"/6.8 tripdoos sorta...definitely something to think about, but I'm guessing someone has already done a 270/222 back in the Ugalde/TCU/IHMSA days. I can see many pros/cons. I can't see much use for the 6.8 SPC anyway...the 6.5 120 gr bullet has a much higher BC than the 6.8 115 gr...the 6.5 TCU has a long track record with a case capacity with 2 gr H20 of the oddball 30 Rem case, but that has been thrashed out already...I COULD see a 6.5 SPC as a good choice, tho'. Too many projects, not enough time or money...and NO LUCK with Lady Luck OR any other who-mans people for that matter. Luck

Is this what you’re think about? I had questions about what the neck diameter and shoulder angle should be, I used Ingram’s neck diameters and maintained the shoulder angle of the 222. Neck length turned out to be .313. Looks interesting but not my cup of tea.

Thanks! Great info. I think it could be fun and a great long range subsonic cart. I like the concept more than the 300 blackout. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. (Founder)

It sort of reminds me of a scaled down 358 Win. I think the neck/shoulder junction number is off. I think the neck and shoulder junction would be about 1.32" leaving a .38" neck length. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. You’re right about that. I plugged in the wrong number from the start and that made a different cartridge. I think this is more like it.

Lol One goal for the Raptors is to be a great Military bullet. Turn the 223 into a spectacular deadly round. The 308, 338 Lapua and 50 BMG more versatile. I'm lobbying for a Raptor designed for the 6.8 SPC but this round could use the regular 270 90 grain raptor. One aspect of the Raptor is making rounds more deadly. The 90 grain 270 raptor in this cart should be a good 200 yard round on big game. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S.
