I'm not sure if the Taylor die would make it better. The shoulder of the x64 is narrow enough to cause "play". I found this out before when I used my 257AI dies to neck down 7x57 brass. The necks tended to be "pushed" to one side. There's less difference in the 257 AI & 7x57 shoulder diameters.

this one would feed great... you could save money on the reamer or the dies...take your pick... like i said the entry level d.g. gun with an extra down...this one a good feeder but the other a smidge more capacity...it will be interesting to compare the capacities between the two and weigh the positives and drawbacks of each. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. the 400 version will easily duplicate the 450-400 and can be the most versitile cart...using the 405 win, 41 mag and 400/450 bullets. it would be interesting to see how fast these 300 grain 405 win bullets could be chucked... cheap bullets for anything soft skinned and for plinking 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. This thread started with the "idea" of using 416 Taylor dies (modified) to reload the 416 Ruger wildcat. There's a cheaper and easier way. When I wanted a .375 wildcat based on the 9.3X64 Brenneke, I called Redding dies. They sold me (on the phone) a 9.3X64 sizing die, then one of their boys down in the shop opened the neck (sizing) portion of the die to .375. I think they charged me something like $50 extra. It took just a couple of weeks to send to me. I'm sure they'd do the same for the 416 Ruger. Garrett

the thread is and started as a way to make a beltless 416 taylor via the 416 taylor dies to get an extra down for a d.g. gun. the 400 version via the 411 kdf/bowman is interesting to me for its versatility and being different. the 400 or 416x64 is a cool thing too. thanks for the tip 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S.
