boom stick577 Jefe aka 577-500 Jeffery 2.25”
Fun food for thought
Question is, could you get a WSM short action to feed a stubby 577 fat bastard of a case with a rebated rim single stack?
I think it has enough capacity to shoot 577 tropical velocities. Could be a fun, fat piggie puncher.
Basically a fatter version of the 50 B&M. From Michael M

jeffeossomight could work, though you've added a couple design features that some consider undesirable
having killed piggies with everything from bows, 22, 50bmg, and 577 NE - shot placement takes more to it than raw power

boom stickWhat’s the largest diameter case that will single stack feed is a good question. Fun thought, if you neck the Jeffery case to .550” it is a rimless 28 Gauge. Not sure about paperwork needed but I am not a lawyer and I’m not giving legal advice. A 28 GFH rimless?

thecanadianI've done a cut down 505 gibbs case in .550 cal it in an ar-10 so I'm not pushing velocity much but in a bolt action it might be able to hit 2100 ft/sec.

thecanadianThe biggest headache is cutting the related rim on the lathe. I sized the reamer so that I didn't have to turn the necks, not even sure anyone makes somthing big enough to do that.

Don’t need the rim. Headspace on the extractor or case mouth.

thecanadianNow confirmed hawk bullets will go 2100ft/sec. 90gr oder h335 netted 2079ft/sec at the muzzle. No pressure signs with the primer and the case has a little more room to spare.
