The 50 BFG .510/458 SOCOM
I've named this version the 50 BFG due to modifications to case and throat length from the 50 EBG.

I finished the fitting and chambering last week, didn't have time to take it to the range until this afternoon.

Daly Commercial Mauser
Hogue Stock
NECG Trigger
PacNor 1/14 twist Remington Varmint Contour finished at 24"

Fireforming loads with necked up 458 SOCOM brass loaded to 2.150" with 325g .510 hollowpoints.

36.5g of Lil Gun - 2060fps average of 5
38.0g of Lil Gun - 2150fps average of 5 ES dropped with every increased load
40.0g of Lil Gun - 2250fps average of 5

The recoil seems softer as compared to the 458 SOCOM in the same basic rifle configuration, bullet weight and velocity.

Case capacity after fireforming is 66.0g of H20. The cases shortened by .005" on fireforming.

Plan on taking the loads up a few grains by next weekend.

Looking for an engraver for the barrel and an appointment with a bluing tank soon.

Pictures - 458 SOCOM, 325g .510 hollowpoint, 50 BFG after fireforming and 50 BFG with 535g Woodleigh.

fireball 168 has a nice rifle and cartridge. I shot next to him at the range. Then got to use his chrono as mine is broke!
