To those who've created wildcats,

Using a mathematical process, is there a way to pre-determine what
a bullet will do, performance wise, before you actually create a
working wildcat? Say you have a goal for a bullet that you're going
to have custom made to .400 diameter, 315 grains, flat tip, driving
band solid. You want to use a 20 in. bbl at the longest, and you
want 2200 FPS MV at least. You a want NO bottle-neck and you want
to use 30R Blazer brass because you have a million pieces, and your
rifle is a Ruger No. 1.

Can you use math to come to reasonably accurate conclusions as to
what you can ACTUALLY achieve with your plan? Thanks for your help.

Powley is a good start.

I've also plotted case volume and velocity trying to get me in the ball park. Then play with parent cases and alterations to get to the case volume I wanted.
