Steve, an amazing hunt all round.

May I say that what impresses me most is the humility you display and the credit given to your PH and his team. You referred to, "..our buffalo," and, "..our lion hunt." This shows an uncommon graciousness.

Well done mate.

Gents,

Thanks for all the messages.

When we told one of the managers on the BVC (Norman) that we were hunting this particular lion and described him he said that he had seen lion with similar black mane genetics in Wankie when he was an officer there. This made sense to Shaun as both lion and elephant from Wankie were brought into the BVC.

You guys can judge from the photo's...but I cant begin to explain to you how thick his mane is. It is amazing.

Best Regards

Steve

That was a hunt beyond the wildest dreams.I have a lioness hunt booked there for '14 and read everything I can about it. One thing that was exciting to me was running into the black rhino while tracking the lion. That's the stuff you read about in books in the OLD days. That would be a special memory.

That entire area remains one of the best places in Africa for big cats. The Leopard get very large too. Congrats on your success Steve, it's what dreams are made of.

Congratulations on a superb Lion and other nice trophies.

While yourself and the hunting team did a fine job hunting and bagging this fantastic Cat, mention must be made of the BVC's management for creating such a fantastic dangerous game area out of a cattle ranch!!

Makorokoto

Cheers,
Brent

Safari2 - because most of the other privately owned concessions have fallen to the compulsory land acquisition. Zim National Parks is managing all the rest of the Safari State Land/concessions.........!!!!!

On a brighter note, Nuanetsi will soon be another prime safari destination in Zim for the big 4.

Cheers,
Brent

At the recent APHA awards in Reno , this lion was runner up in the Dangerous Game category.
My PH, Shaun Buffee (www.shaunbuffeesafaris.com) , was awarded young PH of the year. Congrats to Shaun for both these awards. Well deserved.

Lion is out of the salt and on his way to the taxidermist. Stay tuned for mount photo's!

Congrats on a truly nice hunt. The feline is magnificent ! I have hunted from the Lamulas camp with Shaun in July 2012; a truly memorable experience, thanks to Shaun and his team. I am hunting a Lion this year with Brent Hein from the fimbiri camp, and your photographs have given me an added assurance. I took my first lion in zambia, and would like to end my feline hunting escapades with a bang in the BVC this year. Must add here, that after hunting in Africa for a number of years, I can say for sure that the BVC has been the most amazing area in terms of the quality wild life that you see, and can hunt.

Very well written report and photographs,

cheers,

Ali

As you saw from my report Shaun showed me some trail cam photo's and there are some magnificent wild mature lions on the BVC.
Fimbiri is a nice camp.
