Frank BellerHunting report from Quagga Safaris - Limpopo (pics added)
I'm finally able to tell about my recent trip to the Limpopo Province of So. Africa ..... I came home VERY sick twelve days ago after an extremely wonderful trip with my wife & four friends. I became ill about a day & a half before we let Africa; prior to that, we had a near perfect hunt & a wonderful visit to Kruger National Park. We're fairly sure that I got bit by a tick, and have been fighting that problem for two weeks now. The doctor at first thought I had malaria, even though we all took the prescribed medication for preventing it; now he's pretty convinced that I either got a tick bite or something on the lower part of my left leg ...... it's been a fairly miserable two weeks, but I'm improving now. Now to the hunt: I shot a 27" nyala, a 35" eland, a fine OLD warthog, a red hartebeest with really nice horns, and a steinbok & dikker. Everyone who hunted with me got everything they wanted, and our only failure was nobody got a bushbuck - three of us hunted bushbuck, but no shots were had. Also, Kruger was a wonderful experience of seeing what Africa must have been like a century ago - I'd recommend it if you are ever in the area. I used a Whitworth .375 & Swift 300 gr. A-Frames - man, what a bullet !!! I'm already anxious to go back - sick or not - I can't wait.

DC RoxbyHope you get over the illness soon....so you can post some pics.

Are you on antibiotics? Maybe you have tick bite fever? It's usually treated with doxycycline from what I've read.

Frank BellerMike: Doxicycline is what the doctors have me taking ....... Joyce had a great time, but never touches the rifles ....... she's a little too soft to kill the animals ....... but she'll go back.
I've never posted pictures on AR ..... who can help with the process ?

DC RoxbyFrank,
You need somewhere to upload your photos. Alot of people use
PhotoBucket. Once you have uploaded your photos you can create links to them in a new post using the "URL" button.

Frank BellerThanks to Mike Starling, a few pictures have been added ...... thanks, Mike.
Also, this doxicycline (a) is working to take care of the problem, & (b) is an antibiotic that I suppose I've never used or known about.
