A great safari where we successfully hunted five cape buffalo and two bushbuck. We finished our buffalo on day 8 and so moved camp to Tiger Bay to fish for tigerfish

I am with Adam, some nice buff but I really like the ol' non-typical bull on the left. What a warrior! Nice heavy bushbuck ram as pointed out by Aaron... nicely done. I also like the composition and exposure on your pictures. Unusual but it works!

Congrats there, it looks like a proper Duggaboy hunt!

I recognize a few faces there. It looks like the low carb diet Pierre was on is working or it could be that he's just getting out in the field more.

Peirre was a great hunter and i managed to get my buff on day one and three while my dad got his on day 5 and my brother on day 6 and 7.

Unfortunately Pierre went down with malaria for two days but managed to recover swiftly

Yup, another nice write up for Martin and the boys. I rode out with Pierre, on the 10th, heading back to Bulawayo. Glad he's feeling better. I'd also like to here about the guns used and the hunt.

My father was using a Jeffery .416,
My brother a Jeffery .375,
Both built by Paul Roberts.
I was using a .375 Blaser R93.

It was the first kill for my brother's new rifle (previously used a .375 Bruno), which is a superb piece of craftsmanship.

The .375. Unfortunately the exposure and lenses on my camera do not show the true beauty of the wood.

The .375 engraving.

The two jefferys together

We talked about that while I was there in June. Pierre doesn't take Malaria prophylactics, apparently a couple of years ago he took them for to long and almost died. Glad to hear that he got better quickly.

One of the buff we shot had this swollen knee. Didn't seem to affect him while he walked (and run...for several days before he finally presented himself to my brother). I imagine it was from fighting with another buff

The principals at Hartmann & Weiss have said that Roberts makes the best bolt guns on the planet, or so it is attributed. High praise from high priests.

As posted in another thread, in reply to the same quote, I think you'll find that the answer to the question is actually Peter Nelson, who used to work with Gerhard Hartmann and Otto Weiss:

http://books.google.com/books?...iss%20nelson&f=false

I have been to the H&W workshop in Hamburg a number of times, and they only look up to one gunsmith: Peter Nelson (who was a previous partner and London agent for H&W).
