AnotherAZWriterNyamazana Safaris Leopard Hunt
Never posted a hunt report, and not about to post something long, but I am now in JNB waiting to fly home. Wayne Van Den Bergh is awesome when it comes to leopards. I know nothing is guaranteed, but I can't imagine not getting a leopard with Wayne. A few days into the hunt I asked one of the trackers (who speaks very good English) if he was willing to go double or nothing on his tip: if I got a leopard, he got twice the tip. If I didn't, he would get nothing. He immediately said he would go double or nothing. There is a no way a tracker is going to take that deal unless he knows the odds...
Here is a link to the hunt offer:
http://forums.accuratereloadin...2100588/m/1351091832I also shot a 15 inch bushbuck among other animals.

Safari2Congrats!
What did you think of the overall game numbers and variety at Bubiana?

Plenty of waterbuck, but nothing huge (saw a few 28-29). Bushbuck should be no problem. Saw some blue wildebeest that would hit 30. Eland cows but no bulls. Saw some kudu, but only one in the mid 50s. Lots of warthogs and zebra. Should have shot a bushpig but wasn't enthusiastic about shooting one. Saw a klipspringer that might have been five; would have shot him if I could have.
Nakihunter will post a pic of my leopard; need to transfer photos today among a million other things I need to get done.

Saw one small bull ele, but elephant droppings are all over the place (I really noticed on my every-other day four mile run at lunch breaks). Saw a small group of buff the same day as I saw the ele and two different leopards in broad daylight. I wasn't after buffalo or ele; Wayne has other places he hunts for these, although I know he has shot buff there before (not sure about ele).

Bud MeadowsThat’s a STUNNING leopard, AAZW. Must be the great training you received at the Fort Benning School for Boys that allowed you to successfully complete your hunt. I’m approaching the 50th Anniversary of graduating from IOBC at Benning.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

BushchookNice cat. Can you get him back into the U.S.?
The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.

My guess is you were talking to Sam. If so, last I knew he had been involved in over 150 successful leopard hunts.
Great looking cat! Congratulations.

Yes, I am talking about Sam! In fact, I just chatted with him via Whatsap. Great guy. I know the question of tipping comes up all the time, but tipping Sam and Cowboy generously was a real pleasure.

The people a PH surrounds himself with go a long way to determining his success. Wayne has chosen well. We would all be blessed to have a Sam and Cowboy in our lives.

AnotherAZWriterThanks everyone. Like I said, after four leopard hunts, I can say the key is to hunt with a PH that knows cats. Wayne Van Den Bergh knows cats; Fulvio in Tanz knows cats. I am sure Andrew knows cats and there are others I am sure.
