backyard test on "bullet proof" glass
A rectangular piece of Lexan (plexiglas) 12x8x1" at 20 feet:

.38 Sp SWC from a Colt Det Spec- marked plexi where hit, didn't crater the material noticeably, bullet vaporized. Little to no effect.

9MM parabellum FMJ- shattered material.

oddly, same type 9MM round penetrated a 1-1/2 x 1-1/2x 1/8" square steel tube, but stopped when it reached the opposite side of the tube, and "reverse mushroomed" at the entrance hole.
