tin canbackyard test on "bullet proof" glass
A rectangular piece of Lexan (plexiglas) 12x8x1" at 20 feet:
.38 Sp SWC from a Colt Det Spec- marked plexi where hit, didn't crater the material noticeably, bullet vaporized. Little to no effect.
9MM parabellum FMJ- shattered material.

PeterSteve, thanks for the links on penetration tests! Quite an education. Don't rob a bank without a 45/70!
Peter.

hell yes
oddly, same type 9MM round penetrated a 1-1/2 x 1-1/2x 1/8" square steel tube, but stopped when it reached the opposite side of the tube, and "reverse mushroomed" at the entrance hole.
sorry, no pics.
