Hey Gryph, I've only ever seen one Rusa Sambar stag
and when people realised what it was, they all liked it.
(It was shot under spotlight, picked up and hung up and
it wasn't until at the gutting location that everyone
saw it).

Was a really interesting "trophy", one big Rusa antler,
one big Sambar Antler.

NOTE - Before you castigate me, the word "trophy" is in
inverted comma's.

Some people hate them as a hybrid as often they are neither in the antler dept..there are many wild one`s in southern NSW and further.I have seen McWhinneys video of them and there are some "pretty bloody goood ones Nige" on it.

They are nonetheless still a trophy of course...just not so much with the pen jobs.

Interesting. I didn't realise their were that many out there in the wild.

I'd keep it just for interest sake but I can
understand the Hybrid thought process for "pure" deer species hunters.

You also have to remember that over there (SA),
all the deer except fallow are vermin so we have to try and get rid of them as part of the management of the area.

I'm guessing that he thinks you were being a hypocrite for criticising his OTopic gay remarks ... when you have a rather gayish line in your own sigline. Who knows what 'these people' are thinking anyway??? bewildered

I must add that the last pic shows either a very capable bloke or an incredibly foolish goose that's destined to have a bigger gap in his front teeth.

Gryph

IMHO, "Spirited" support for your team is welcome including giving stick to the opposition but it seems some NZ fans have taken it a bit far - spitting, threatening and other behavior.

Not too sure why they seem to have gone this way. Frustration ???

Well a better performance that's for sure.

Still mistakes on our part, like leaving the blind side wide open which the US took great advantage of and so should they.

Matt

They (The USA) scored one try down the blind side. OK, Aust scored a lot but this telling piece from one of the newspapers summed up what I was talking about.

"The Wallabies secured their bonus point for scoring four tries before half-time, but it was hardly a spectacular first half by the Australians. When they got it together in attack, and showed some patience, they looked good. But this was intersperced with stretches of silly football, and indecisive moments that enabled the US to apply more pressure than should have been allowed.

Around the 20-minute mark, the US applied enormous pressure on the Wallabies, enjoying 20 consecutive phases of play, until being granted the scrum feed about 15 metres out from the Australian line. In a major mess-up, the Wallabies applied the eight-man push, forcing the US to quickly gather the ball at the back of the scrum, with their No. 8, J.J. Gagiano going the blindside. All it required was either blindside flanker Rocky Elsom or Palu to haul him in, but they were nowhere to be seen, enabling Gagiano to score the easiest of tries, the first against Australia in the tournament, and a major red-faces moment for the Wallabies. The second half was markedly better for the Wallabies."

This was the USA, if the flankers go missing that close to the line against any of the better opposition we are going to get slaughtered.

Good back play, kicking and running will always do well regardless of who is playing (ref Jonah Lomu as an example) but basic mistakes like the above is where we are going to come unstuck. Good on the USA for taking advantage of it.

What are other people's thoughts on how Australia played ?

I think NZ is looking better now.

BTW - Melbourne Storm got beaten !!!

Thanks all....

Pretty tough for one mistake?? We'll see I guess Nigel. Hopefully we havent lost too many players for the rest of the tournament. The wheels have fallen off New Zealands wagon a couple times this year too - so anything is possible.

Always difficult to beat NZ at home though - no matter who is playing....

Yes, pretty tough, but it just stuck in my mind, that's all.

And then when I saw the write up today, I just thought it was
exactly what I was trying to say.

Anyway, I think NZ are on a roll now.

One for Muzza talk about astro turfing I got this one this morning.
Dear Robbie,
Congratulations on reaching your 50th Test as Coach of the Wallabies.
Can I start by saying what a choice job you’ve been doing since you first started working for New Zealand Rugby in 2008. It has been a long-term task, but the plan to ensure the All Blacks win the World Cup at home in 2011 is coming together perfectly.
My idea of getting you to be hired by Australian Rugby as their national coach and then sabotage the Wallabies from within, in my own modest opinion, was an absolute masterstroke. While our plan had many doubters, I always knew in my heart that the Aussies would fall for it. After reaching 50 tests as coach on the weekend, I think it’s only fitting to mention what I think are your top 10 highlights of sabotage to date:

1. Losing to Ireland
2. Giving Rocky the captaincy of the country he hadn’t played for in over two years, then stripping it off him right before the World Cup
3. Losing to Scotland
4. Not even getting close to winning the Bledisloe Cup back
5. Not picking a backup for Pocock in the World Cup squad
6. Never using the Wallaby bench effectively
7. Not having a back-up game plan
8. Using words like “contest, willing, collision, contact-zone, adaptation” to describe rugby
9. Losing to Samoa
10. Winning only 54% of all your games as coach of historically one of the most successful teams in Rugby

I can’t believe after all this they then extended your contract for a further two years?!?!?! How they didn’t work out our plan after you coached them to 10 Bledisloe cup losses in a row is full credit to you and were all very proud of you back at home bro.
Well done once again and as planned we’ll see you at Ritchie’s after the World Cup to celebrate pulling the wool over the Aussies' eyes.
Cheers
Graham Henry

Regards,
Bob.

This is really good popcorn - you want some ? popcorn

I see the Warriors are in the Grand Final for League as well.

Might be a bit of choking in Aussie-land if they win , perhaps ...?
