Cool tahr pic - was it taken with that new camera thats so fast it can catch an aussie with his mouth shut ?

Hey Muzza,
That was a good camera alright.
Apart from the shutter speed it manages to edit out the back of the sheep. Now that is a bonus for "happy snaps" that come from the land of the long white cloud.
Who is going to win tonight?
Frogs or Whales?

Fellas, just want to wish the Wallabies and the All Blacks the best of luck in the semis. I don't have a dog in this fight, and the game starts in the wee hours here in the States. Just hope it is well played and very professionally refereed and that you all have a great time watching. The Welsh lads seem to have given it a hell of a try yesterday.

I'm a little like you as well Muzza. I did play rugby (was a speedy centre Wink then got old and fat rotflmo) but hate to watch sport. I'll watch some of the bigger games like the wallabys/all blacks but not much else.

Bakes - I did rugby at primary school cos you had no choice back then. Played hockey at high school cos it gave you a weapon... Have a small boy who plays soccer but doesnt watch sport at all..

And whilst I certainly understand the basic rules and ideals of most sporting codes I really am just not interested - except maybe for womens beach volleyball Smiler

Well, not long to go !!!

Wales had the chance to win it last night,
it just shows how important the kicking and getting the score on the board is.

Matt,
Re your comment "There's just no pleasing some people!!!"

I was watching an interview with Deans this morning and he said roughly the same thing, that it's a young team that if they win it's only one trophy, a lot more is expected before they go higher in people's estimation.

There are two national teams with well performing young teams that should improve with their current membership

Wales & the Wallabies.

He He .........the 'team building' excuse for lost games gets dragged out a lot , but reality says that both Wales & the Wallabies are doing well relative to age & experience as teams in 2011 & more can be expected of them in the future.

Well, all credit to the Kiwi, I think they started superbly and never really let Australia catch up.

Plus we made some errors interspersed with some great Rugby but the Kiwi defense was just too good. Pity Quade made some more mistakes.

I hope the Kiwis go on to win.

Great game! I thought that the All Blacks won it up front & the high ball contest was absolutely outstanding.

Apart from Ione & Pocock, there was no really outstanding performance from the Wallabies. Yes Quade had a mixed game. There was a short spell when he kicked the drop goal & then started to show some of his magic but got quickly shut down.

The All Blacks had many star performances today, Cory Jane, Israel Dagg, Richie McCaw, Jerome Kaeno, Mealamu, Owen Franks, Brad Thorne, Kiran Reede, Aaron Crudon, Nonu, Weepu .... a complete performance where the whole team lifted a step up!

Now for the French next week .... I hope they do not pull another 1999 or 2007 on us!

My money is on the French, but if the All Blacks win good for them! Think the average age of the All Blacks that win the last World Cup is 48 years now, so they deserve to win so they can tel their grand children about the game!! LOL.

Not much chance of winning the game when you lose almost every kicking duel, get dominated in the forwards, lose control of the ball in phase play & make tactical mistakes as well.
the Wallabies can play better than that.
Well played by the All Blacks, they had the Wallabies rattled for most of the match.

Consolation prize is the Kangaroos won the RL game against NZ & Stoner won both the Phillip Island GP & the GP world championship.

Mixed fortunes for Oz this weekend.

It was interesting to see the French coach castigate some of his players who went out partying after their win. He mentioned that in 1987, the French team did the same but partied for 4 days and he was a part of it and then a few days later lost to NZ in the final.

He said he didn't want that to happen again.

Now if you look at the English team, you have to wonder where their focus was during the RWC considering how they bowed out.

If anyone thought there was pressure on the AB`s against Aus,think again to next week of the pressure on them all, there will be some sleepless nights AND nightmares for many of them, perhaps a beach holiday would help them eh...In Oz of course!

Well done All Blacks!

Disregarding New Zealands past WC performance....It would be a brave man to bet against NZ in any test on home soil, especially such a big game..

If they played like they played last night, I don't think anyone could stop them.

Looking back, and regardless of how our errors made it easier for them,
they came out from the first whistle hard, fast and clinical and it paid off,
not only in the initial score but it rattled Australia.

Anyway, it was another good Rugby test to watch which was good and well done
to the Kiwis. You cost me a $20 bet !!!

I'll remember that if
1. You ever bet me on anything
2. I am ever out hunting DG with you.

It reminds me of the PH in Arhnemland, 1st day (afternoon),
went for a short walk, strecth legs, get the lay of the land
and ten flood plains.

Now to me his "short walk" was fine, turned out to be about 8kms
but to 2 others with us, it nearly killed them both the distance
and waling over buffalo torn up ground, plus the midges
got to one guys legs badly (something I got a few years later).

Yep, I have seen a PH's "glass-half-full" before !!! LOL

If the ABs play like last night, the Fench will be hammered. The issue is that the French forwards are a lot older, harder and seasoned in the tight game. They will try to rush Crudon and Weepu.

Yes I am a bit nervous - all they need is one refeering error like 2007 or a sudden burst of back line magic like 1999 and the whole picture changes. The French have not shown such capabilities in this WC.

Go the All Blacks!

That just sounds shithouse.... there's a few guides up here (NT) who like people to 'do it the traditional way' Roll Eyes ... they have worn a few clients out, who just didnt appreciate being put in that position... mostly older guys or not very fit.

Good to see the French right up there. Even though, emotionally, I want the All Blacks to win, this game is truly a World Cup game. May the best team win!
And what about Namibia? A powerhouse in the making?!!!

That was a pretty good game guys... I was watching it from China with a house full of Kiwi's... we are an Adidas Family so no surprise there. I was thinking it was going to be closer, but if the amount of blood I saw was any indication... this was a hard match!

The "4 more years" chant will be as loud a 100 years from now!

Look at this cool one I go today

.....

In 1991 three kids were playing in the street in Sydney when they were hit by a train. They all go to heaven and God says to them, "You weren't supposed to die, you were all supposed to live out your lives. This was not your time. To make it up to you, I'll let you choose what you want to do with your life. Take a running jump off of that cloud over there, and as you're flying back down to Earth, ....shout out what you want to do. And so it shall be."
The 1st kid takes a running leap and shouts "Lawyer" and so, 20 years later, he is a very successful lawyer, making lots of money, with an upcoming appointment to the Bench.
The 2nd kid takes his turn and shouts "brain surgeon" and so, 20 years later, he is the most admired man in his field of medicine and making a ton of money saving lives.
The 3rd kid goes to take his turn, and as he runs he trips over his own feet and stumbles of the cloud muttering "stupid clumsy arsehole." 20 years later, he's playing 1st five for the Wallabies.
