What a prick of a week!

Took the wife to the coast for a week, towed the boat up but the weather was shit for the first 3 days. Had a break in the crappy weather so I met an old mate for a fish on the Burrum river.

Lucky me I managed to find the rock bar laying hidden in the murky water

Luckly insurance will cover it. THEN last night the smoke alarms went off in the house we were renting and we couldn't stop them. We'd reset them and 10 minutes later it would sound off!. Bugger it, lets pack up and go, so at 0030 we left Woodgate and managed to get to Caboolture and I lost power in the Triton. Cost me $1000+ to get towed home and the trip home took 10 hours.

What a bloody holiday Roll Eyes

The prop looks artistic!

Man that's a bad run. Reminds me of a 3 day trip where the first night I spent in a hostel where I couldnt turn the light off because as soon as you did, A line of bed bugs would form at far side of room and start advancing across the curtain and the guy I was travelling with wouldn't do the night driving, but got septic at me for winding down my window at 2 am for some fresh air to keep me awake. because it wrecked his sleep and he had to drive in the morning....

Damn Tony, that was one trip you should have stayed home.

Sorry to hear it mate.

Better luck next time.

Mount that prop on the wall, it's no good for anything else now.

Well that was certainly a trip dogged by bad luck and probably one to forget. The Mitsi's are usually pretty reliable, what caused the power loss?

I should think myself lucky, Tony. A crook radiator cap cooked the head of my Suzuki GV at duck opening and the country mechanics were so busy they couldn't look at it for four weeks - it took two months to get back.

Then I only got 40 km before the engine light came on again. Once more the RACV took it back to Maryborough, gratis. It seems the initial heat had distended the timing chain and getting a new one took another month. However, the engine scan still showed a problem and it took the mechanic days to find the bit of 'fluff' causing it.

It's an ill wind ... though. My wife hates manuals so raced out laughing and bought a Mazda auto the week of Suzi's first catastrophe.
