Brilliant

These new machines and today's operators are incredible.

Check out the LE on the left wing at 13:40
That's one amazing airplane, makes you wonder what it's doing that isn't visible.

Yeah, but I didn't see any wing mounted cannon!
How are you supposed to shoot anything down?

Like most modern fighters, it's in the fuselage, less drag that way and right on the centerline.

Two showed up at the Reno air races in mid-afternoon on September 11. They did multiple fly-bys and steep climbs, but didn't park close enough to really get up close and personal with them after they landed. I guess they are still too new to let anyone get too close. In contrast, I was all over an F-15 that was there. I took some pictures of the Raptors in flight, but most came out out of focus.

I don't know what happened, but after the F-22s parked, the fire department and various rescue people swarmed all over one of the F-22s. I asked some passersby what was going on, but no one had any opinion beyond maybe the pilot was nauseous after so many hi-G climbs and banks, et cetera. I have some shots of that, too...

State of the art to be sure, I was a very young man when the F-15's came along, 3 or 4 years before I started flying, I have seen a lot of airplanes since retired, I don't think I will live to see this one retired.
